Your first visit will usually consist of a full oral exam and consultation with your oral surgeon. This initial appointment gives your surgeon the opportunity to discuss your situation and treatment options with you thoroughly before forming your treatment plan. If you have any questions about your condition and treatment options, your initial consultation is a good opportunity to talk to your oral surgeon. If you need to have additional X-rays or 3D scans taken, your surgeon may take these during the consultation.
To help us provide you with care as efficiently as possible, we ask that you please bring the following things to your first appointment:
Patients who are under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all appointments.
We recommend coming in a few minutes early so that you can fill out any necessary paperwork about your medical history or insurance information. If you have any existing medical conditions that your doctor should know about, please be sure to discuss them during your consultation. Feel free to contact our offices if you have any questions or to schedule your initial appointment with Dr. Craig Yamamoto, Dr. Kitamura, Dr. Eva Kiezik, Dr. Thomas Yamamoto, or Dr. Michael Hironaka.
Thank you for taking the time to review this important information, and we look forward to meeting you.
Our offices are equipped with various forms of anesthesia to ensure you are comfortable throughout the entire treatment process.
All three of our office locations are equipped with the latest technology, including a 3D CT Scanner that allows us to get extremely accurate pictures of your condition.
To achieve the best possible outcome after your oral surgery, there are several important steps to follow, beginning with guidelines for care even before your surgical appointment. Dr. Craig Yamamoto, Dr. Kitamura, Dr. Kiezik, Dr. Thomas Yamamoto, and Dr. Hironaka have all undergone extensive training to be able to provide the full scope of oral and maxillofacial procedures. That being said, how you take care of yourself is equally as important as their qualifications when you are looking for the best experience and surgical outcome.
We want to make sure that you know exactly what steps to take to take proper care of yourself so that you can experience the outcome you desire. To help you prepare for your care before and after surgery, we provide you with both pre- and post-operative instructions. The general pre-operative instructions will help you prepare for surgery by adjusting your diet, medications, and anything else needed to ensure your body is ready. Your post-operative instructions will typically be more specific towards your procedure and will provide instructions for your care once you return home after surgery. It's important that you fully understand these instructions, and we encourage you to call our office if any part of them is unclear.
